AlzBuddy serves as an interactive memory care assistant tailored for seniors, particularly those in the early stages of Alzheimer’s and dementia. Its intuitive design, complemented by research-based typography, prioritizes user convenience and engagement. With over 7,000 downloads across more than 30 countries, AlzBuddy features three primary modules: Sounds, Games, and Pictures.

The Sounds Module encompasses a collection of over 2,000 audio clips, including songs, commercials, speeches, and animal sounds. Songs are thoughtfully organized into three thematic categories—“relaxed,” “groovy,” and “vibrant”—featuring popular hits from the 1940s to the 1980s. This module's curated selection aims to evoke nostalgia through recognizable tunes from artists such as Elvis Presley and Michael Jackson. Additionally, users can access compilations of iconic advertisements and significant political speeches, enhancing their engagement with historical context.

Within the Games Module, AlzBuddy offers six games designed to stimulate cognitive function through both individual and group play. Individual games include the Color Grid game—a medical professional-recommended tool for enhancing coordination and focus—alongside a picture association game inspired by nursing home feedback and a customizable memory game. The Color Grid game challenges users to accurately color buttons based on provided instructions while allowing for self-assessment. The picture association game promotes connections to important historical figures and objects through enjoyable interactions, while the memory game adapts to various skill levels with adjustable content.

For group activities, AlzBuddy includes the Trivia Game, Password Game, and Discussion Activity. The trivia component features over 300 questions aimed at facilitating fun discussions, while the Password Game elevates Charades through a rich set of more than 350 clues for users to enact. The Discussion Activity offers nearly 100 thought-provoking prompts for interaction between users and caregivers or loved ones, fostering meaningful connections in a supportive environment.

The Pictures Module contains over 800 images with descriptive text that spotlight notable figures from world history as well as everyday items from various categories such as nature and sports. The intent is to assist users in recalling significant individuals and elements from their past experiences.
